ஜார்ஜியா மாநில அவை ஜனவரி 14, 2025 ஆம் தேதியை *“தமிழ் தைப் பொங்கல் தினமாக”* அதிகாரபூர்வமாக அறிவிக்கும் தீர்மானத்தை இன்று நிறைவேற்றியது.
இந்த தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டதை தொடர்ந்து மாநில பிரதிநிதி *உயர்திரு.மாட் ரீவ்ஸ்* அட்லாண்டா தமிழ் மன்ற நிர்வாகிகளிடம் இந்த தீர்மானத்தின் முறைசாரா நகலை வழங்கினார்
இந்த நிகழ்வை சாத்தியமாக்குவதற்காக *உயர்திரு.மாட் ரீவ்ஸ்* அவர்களின் அசைக்க முடியாத ஆதரவிற்கு மிக்க நன்றி.

தமிழ் மொழி, கலைகள், கலாச்சாரம், தொண்டு மற்றும் பாரம்பரியம் ஆகியவற்றை மேம்படுத்துவதில் ஜார்ஜியா தமிழ் மக்களின் அசைக்க முடியாத அர்ப்பணிப்புக்கு இந்த மதிப்புமிக்க அங்கீகாரம் ஒரு சான்றாகும்.
அட்லாண்டா தமிழ் மன்றம் சமூகத்தில் தமிழ் மரபுகள் பற்றிய ஆழமான புரிதலையும் பாராட்டையும் வளர்ப்பதில் மேற்கொண்ட குறிப்பிடத்தக்க முயற்சிகளை இந்தச் சான்றிதழ் அங்கீகரிக்கிறது.
ஆளுநர் உயர்திரு. பிரையன் பி. கெம்ப் அவர்களுடன் நடந்த சந்திப்பின்போது அட்லாண்டா தமிழ் மன்றத்தின் சமூக மையத்திற்கான நிலம் வாங்கியதை பற்றிய ஆலோசனையும், அதேபோல் அட்லாண்டா மாநகரில் *திருவள்ளுவருக்கு சிலை* அமைப்பதற்கான கோரிக்கையும் வைக்கப்பட்டது.
இந்த மதிப்புக்குரிய அங்கீகாரத்திற்கும் ஆளுநர் சந்திப்பிற்கும் ஏற்பாடு செய்த *டாக்டர் திரு.இந்திரன் பி. இந்திரகிருஷ்ணன்* (எம்.டி., ஜார்ஜியா போர்டு ஆஃப் ஹெல்த்கேர் ஒர்க்ஃபோர்ஸ்) அவர்களுக்கும் எங்கள் மனமார்ந்த நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம்.
GA State House Resolution and Governor Kemp Commendation

Historic Event at the Georgia State Capitol:
With immense pride and joy, we celebrate a historic milestone for Tamils in Georgia and worldwide. Today, the Georgia State House passed a resolution officially declaring January 14th 2025 as Tamil Thai Pongal Day in Georgia. This is a significant moment for our community, and we are deeply grateful for this recognition.
Following the passage of the resolution, House Representative Matt Reeves presented an informal copy of the resolution to the ATM leadership. We are thankful for his unwavering support in making this moment possible. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Representative Reeves for his role in ensuring this important event took place.
Governor’s Commendation:
We are also thrilled to share another exciting development for our Georgia Tamil community. Today, we received a special commendation from our respected Governor, Brian P. Kemp. January 14th has officially been recognized as Tamil Thai Pongal Day in the state of Georgia.
Atlanta Tamil Mandram (ATM) is incredibly proud and honored to receive this commendation from Governor Kemp. Thank you, Governor Kemp, for your support and recognition of our culture and traditions.
During our meeting with Governor Kemp in his office, we elaborately discussed the potential acquisition of property for the ATM Community Center and requested a public space to house the Tiruvalluvar Statue continuously like last 2 times.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Indran Indrakrishnan for his tireless efforts in bringing this momentous event to fruition at the Georgia State Capitol today.
