To prepare them for this special role, a lyrics book is shared before the show, making the audience the true stars of the performance. Motta Maadi Music has captivated audiences worldwide, celebrating the vibrant spirit of Tamil music and culture across cities in the UK, Europe, Australia, and iconic locations such as Dubai, Singapore, and Malaysia. Who we are:
Motta Maadi Music (MMM) is a Chennai-based music group founded by Badhri Narayanan Seshadri, known for its unique concept of audience-led singing and performances that started on rooftops and have grown to include auditoriums and international tours.
Here’s a more detailed look at Motta Maadi Music:
Origins:
The group began as a casual jam session on a rooftop, open to anyone, and has since evolved into a popular music movement.
Concept:
MMM’s core idea is to empower the audience to sing, with lyrics published beforehand so participants can prepare.
Growth:
MMM has expanded from terrace performances to larger venues, including auditoriums, which Badhri playfully calls “Maaditoriums”.
Band Members:
The band consists of nine talented musicians, including Badhri, Haritha (veena), Ashish (woodwind), Pramodh (lead guitar), Giridhar (rhythm guitar), Sankrith (bass), Clinton (keys), Vignesh (drums), Aditya (percussions) and singers Shivaranjani, Gurucharan, Soorya, Sundaram Vasudevan.
International Tours:
MMM is currently taking its music global, with shows in Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, the UK, Europe, and the US.
Sustainability:
MMM embraces sustainable practices, minimizing lighting and encouraging audience participation.
Badhri Narayanan Seshadri:
Badhri is a sound engineer and musician who founded Motta Maadi Music, and is also known for his work in the film industry.
