நம் உயிரை உணர்வை வளர்க்கும் தமிழை கொண்டாடும் வகையில் அட்லாண்டா தமிழ் மன்றத்தால் கொண்டாடப்படும் முத்தமிழ் விழா இந்த வருடம் ஆகஸ்ட் 24 ஆம் நாள் மாலை 3 மணி முதல் 7:00 மணி வரை கொண்டாடப்பட இருக்கிறது.

ஒலிக்கடலில் முதன்முதலாய் உதிர்த்து வந்த பேரலையாம், நம் தமிழை நமது அடுத்த தலைமுறைக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்ல இவ்விழாவில் நீங்களும் ,உங்கள் குழந்தைகளும் இயல் இசை மற்றும் நாடக நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் பங்கு பெற விண்ணப்பங்கள் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்படும்.

MTV Competitions Judge registration

Atlanta Tamil Mandram is planning to conduct the Muthamizh Vizha Competition for very first time in Atlanta as part of our annual Muthamizh Vizha celebrations. The competition aimed to promote Tamil language and culture among the younger generation of the migrant Tamils in Atlanta .
The competition is open to participants ranging from as young as 3 years old to mature kids. They can compete in various categories including Speech, Thirukkural, Essay Writing, Drawing, Fancy Dress, Tongue Twisters, and Spelling Bee, all conducted in Tamil.

To ensure the success of this event, we are seeking knowledgeable and passionate individuals with specific expertise based on the competition to serve as judges. Your expertise and experience in the Tamil language and culture would be invaluable in evaluating and encouraging these young talents.

MTV Cultural Event Registration

1.  Group performers with at least 8 participants will be given preference. Also, preference will be given to the programs based on ages of the participants to ensure the overall balance of all age groups.

2. Please avoid SOLO registrations for Cultural Events. SOLO registration will be accepted only for competitions. Each participant can register up to 3 competitions.

3. 5 mins slot – Dance / Music / Classical/Folk etc.,. 8 mins slot – Drama / Skit / Parai / Variety program/Special dances etc.,. 

4. Every participant will be allowed only one performance on stage with the intention of giving a fair opportunity to everyone. Please avoid last minute cancellation.

5. ATM Band kids can be part of ATM band and one cultural event. They have to be dressed up for the cultural event as program sequence will not be changed to their need.

6. Choreographers are required to send a group pic with their costumes and also a Promo video recorded less than 1 min and send it to Cultural@atlantatamilmandram.org by Aug 17th 2024

7. No participation fee for ATLANTA TAMIL MANDRAM members and Family. Non-members can become a member (https://tinyurl.com/ATM-Membership) or can pay NON-MEMBER DONATION OF $10 per person.( https://atlantatamilmandram.org/donations/non-member/ )

8. Individual Participants have to pay their Member fee or Non Member fee with the link provided. Choreographers collect only the registered email id of each participant to enter in the registration form.

9. Last date to pay the membership fee is August 17th 2024.

10. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Last Date: August 11th 2024.  However, we may close the registration earlier if we get required registrations.

11. Song selection have to be based on promoting our language and culture and it should be mentioned at the time of registration. First 2 teams with repetition of songs will be accepted. The 3rd team with the same song request will be asked to change their song.

12. Audio files should be provided in MP3 format. Audio quality is the responsibility of the choreographer.  

13. All Audio / Transcripts must be emailed to cultural@atlantatamilmandram.org. The last day to send the audio files / script /dialog for performance is August 11th 2024.

14. Language/lyrical content/attire must be appropriate for all ages, must adhere to Tamil tradition and should not be hurtful to any section of people/group/ethnicity.

15. The program committee will review the song/program for required quality and will confirm by August 15th 2024.

16. All the program coordinators will be requested to report at the venue 30 mins before start time of the cultural events. Program sequence will be revealed only on the day of the event. Mainly to encourage and support every participant.

17. If any participants don’t report on time or only a minimum number of participants show up their program will automatically get canceled.

**Atlanta Tamil Mandram (ATM) Cultural Committee decision will be final and has the right to accept / deny any programs for valid reasons.**Registration will be considered as first come first serve basis only.

Thirukkural Competition Registration

  1. Pick the ‘திருக்குறள்’ (It can be of any order) 

  2. Please note that Thirukkural (optional ஆத்திச்சூடி for age 3-5 only) has to be recited as per the guideline listed in the below chart by age group

  3. 60% weightage will be given based on the Pronunciation, spontaneous flow from the memory and the confidence of the contestant. 

  4. 30% weightage will be given based on the clarity of the voice of the contestant. 

  5. 10% weightage will be given based on the posture, presentation and expression of the contestant.  

  6. The venue will be emailed to the registered contestants via their registered email only.

  7. The contestant will not be allowed to refer to any material during the competition.  

  8. Results will be announced at the  ATM Muthamizh Vizha event after all competitions are concluded

  9. Prizes will be distributed at the venue for all competitions

  10. Top 3 contestants will be asked to perform on stage at the event day

  11. Judges’ decisions are final. 

  12. The kids should recite the following based on the age group: 

  • Ages 3 – 5 should recite any 5 திருக்குறள் or ஆத்திச்சூடி

  • Ages 6 – 9 should recite any 5 திருக்குறள் from any அதிகாரம்

  • Ages 10 – 13 should recite 10 திருக்குறள் from கடவுள் வாழ்த்து அதிகாரம்

  • Ages 14 – 17 should recite 10 திருக்குறள் from கல்வி அதிகாரம்

Speech Competition Registration

  1. Please note that your topic of speech has to be picked as per the guideline listed in the below chart by age group
  2. 60% weightage will be given to Pronunciation, spontaneous flow from memory and the confidence of the contestant. 
  3. 20% weightage will be given to the relevance to the topic
  4. 20% weightage will be given to the posture, presentation and expression of the contestant. 

  5. The venue will be emailed to the registered contestants via their registered email only.

  6. The contestant will not be allowed to refer to any material during the competition. 
  7. Any prompting by the parents during the competition will render the contestant disqualified. 

  8. Top 3 contestants will be asked to perform on stage at the event day

  9. Results will be announced at the  ATM Muthamizh Vizha event after all competitions are concluded

  10. Prizes will be distributed at the venue for all competitions

  11. Judges decisions are final.

  12. The kids should choose the following based on the age group:

    • Ages 3 – 5 should talk for 3 minutes on the topic பாட்டி கதைகள்/பழந்தமிழ் கதைகள் 

    • Ages 6 – 9 should talk for 3 minutes on the topic பண்டிகைகள் 

    • Ages 10 – 13 should talk for 5 minutes on the topic புகழ் பெற்ற பழந்தமிழ் நகரங்கள்/உங்கள் சொந்த ஊர்

    • Ages 14 – 17 should talk for 5 minutes on the topic புகழ் பெற்ற தலைவர்கள்(உலக அளவில் உங்களுக்கு பிடித்த தலைவர்கள்)

    • Ages 18 and older should talk for 7 minutes on the topic தமிழ் மொழியின் சிறப்புக்கள்

கட்டுரைப் போட்டி பதிவு
Essay-writing Competition Registration

  1. Composition/Essay MUST be based on the theme: 
  2. 80% weightage will be given based on the content and words used in the essay.  
  3. 20% weightage will be given to the handwriting and the neatness of the essay 
  4. The contestant will not be allowed to refer to any material during the competition. 
  5. Paper will be provided; all other writing tools need to be brought by the    contestant.

  6. This competition will be held in person at ATM Muthamizh Vizha event on Saturday, Aug 24th, 2024 

  7. All contestants for the Katturai competition should check in at 3:00 pm at the registration desk to collect the contestant number, competitions will begin at 3:30 pm

  8. On the writing sheet the contestant number should be mentioned clearly  

  9. Duration of the competition is 45 minutes – will be enforced strictly.
  10. Parents will not be allowed inside the room where the competitions are held.

  11. Results will be announced at the  ATM Muthamizh Vizha event after all competitions are concluded

  12. Prizes will be distributed at the venue for all competitions

  13. Judges decisions are final.
  14. The kids should choose the following based on the age group: 

    • Ages 6 – 9 should write an essay (not exceeding 150 words) on the topic உறவுகள்

    • Ages 10 – 13 should write an essay (not exceeding 200 words) on the topic பண்டிகைகள்

    • Ages 14 – 17 should write an essay (not exceeding 250 words) on the topic புகழ் பெற்ற தலைவர்கள்(உலக அளவில் உங்களுக்கு பிடித்த தலைவர்கள்)

    • Ages 18 and older should write an essay (not exceeding 250 words) on the topic தமிழ் மொழியின் சிறப்புக்கள்

Drawing Competition Registration

  1. Please note that topic and drawing sheet dimensions has to be as per the guidelines listed in the below chart by age group

  2. Any type of drawing material can be used: dry colors (crayon, pencil, dry pastel) or water colors (Cake, water, poster and acrylic colors) or in oil based colors (oil color/ canvas colors). 

  3. Drawing can also be on any paper, drawing paper or canva.  

  4. Only one drawing will be allowed per contestant

  5. All supplies should be brought in by the contestants  

  6. Model pictures will be allowed for reference purposes during the competition 

  7. Duration of the competition is 45 minutes – will be enforced strictly

  8. This competition will be held in person at ATM Muthamizh Vizha event on Saturday, Aug 24th, 2024 

  9. All contestants for the drawing competition should check in at 3:00 pm at the registration desk to collect the contestant number, competitions will begin at 3:30 pm

  10. On the drawing sheet the contestant number should be mentioned clearly  

  11. No parents will be allowed inside the room / area where the competitions will be held 

  12. Results will be announced at the  ATM Muthamizh Vizha event after all competitions are concluded

  13. Prizes will be distributed at the venue for all competitions

  14. The kids should choose the following based on the age group: 

    • Ages 3 – 5 should draw on a 11.7 in x 8.3 in Drawing sheet on the topic என் குடும்பம்

    • Ages 6 – 9 should draw on a 11 in X 14 in Drawing sheet on the topic இயற்கை

    • Ages 10 – 13 should draw on a 14 in x 17 in Drawing sheet on the topic இயற்கை

    • Ages 14 – 17 should draw on a 14 in x 17 in Drawing sheet on the topic தமிழ்ப் பண்டிகைகள்

    • Ages 18 and older should draw on a 14 in x 17 in Drawing sheet on the topic இயற்கை வளங்களை பாதுகாப்போம்

    • NOTE: Points will be reduced if the chart size is different.

  15. Based on the artwork submitted to our competitions, they will be judged based on the following elements of artistic expression:

    • Interpretation and the clarity of the theme, to the viewer

    • Creativity, uniqueness, and originality of the depicted theme

    • Quality of artistic composition and overall design based on the theme

    • Color and tone. Balance of image within its space 

    • Overall impression of the art. 

    • Judges decision are final.

மாறுவேடப் போட்டி பதிவு
Fancy Dress Competition Registration

  1. Participants must dress up appropriately based on the theme

  2. Duration of the speech should be: 

    • Age 3 – 5 : 45 seconds

    • Age 6 – 9 : 60 seconds

  3. Speech should not have any political, community, religion etc. related statements that may be offensive. 

  4. Participants can hold any placard or props if needed and the medium of language must be Tamil.

  5. Above rules / guidelines will have to be followed consistently. 

  6. This competition will be held in person at ATM Muthamizh Vizha event on Saturday, Aug 24th, 2024 

  7. All contestants for the fancy dress competition should check in at 3:00 pm at the registration desk to collect the contestant number, competitions will begin at 3:30 pm

  8. Results will be announced at the  ATM Muthamizh Vizha event after all competitions are concluded

  9. Prizes will be distributed at the venue for all competitions

  10. Judges’ decisions are final.

தமிழ்த் தேனீ போட்டி பதிவு
Tamil Spelling Bee Competition Registration

  1. Participants should prepare based on the topic appropriate for their specified age group.

  2. Pronunciation should be clear with 100% correct Tamil letters.

  3. Duration of each word is 20 seconds – will be enforced strictly.

  4. Points will be awarded when the answer was given within the allotted time.

  5. The venue will be emailed to the registered contestants via their registered email only.

  6. Any prompting by the parents during the competition will render the contestant disqualified. 

  7. Results will be announced at the  ATM Muthamizh Vizha event after all competitions are concluded.

  8. Prizes will be distributed at the venue for all competitions.

  9. Judges’ decisions are final.

  10. The kids are categorized as below based on the age group:

    • Ages 6 – 9 : Topic பறவைகள்/விலங்குகள்

    • Ages 10 – 13 : Topic தமிழ் ஊர்கள்

    • Ages 14 – 17 : Topic இலக்கியம்/ கவிதைகள்

நா பிறழ் வாக்கியங்கள் போட்டி பதிவு
Tongue Twisters Competition Registration

  1. Participants will receive their tongue twister sentences prior to the competition

  2.  The facilitator/judge  will select the tongue twister sentences for each level(based on age level).

  3. Players will repeat the tongue twister three times, aiming for flawless delivery.

  4. Points will be awarded based on the participant’s pronunciation, clarity, volume, and speed.

  5. The venue will be emailed to the registered contestants via their registered email only.

  6. The contestant will not be allowed to refer to any material during the competition. 

  7. Any prompting by the parents during the competition will render the contestant disqualified. 

  8. Results will be announced at the  ATM Muthamizh Vizha event after all competitions are concluded

  9. Prizes will be distributed at the venue for all competitions

  10.  Judges’ decisions are final. 

  11. The tongue twister level is categorized based on the below age group. 

    • Ages 6 – 9 : Easy level

    • Ages 10 – 13 : Moderate level

    • Ages 14 – 17 : Difficult level

    • Ages 18 and older : Advanced level
