Education & Training
  • In 1993, Actively engaged and administered a small environment friendly club at the age of 12 – worked on neighborhood cleaning and planting trees with saplings received from Anubhav plantations in Chennai, India
  • 1998 to 2011 — Volunteered at religious organizations to help teach dance to economically underprivileged children in Chennai, India
  • 2004 – 2010 – served in various charity and safety roles at work
  • 2011 – 2013 – Albany Tamil Association / Albany Telugu Association – Dance choreographer, active volunteer at children’s day events, cultural events
  • TRICIA Spring Festival 2012 Dance choreographer [Albany, NY] – an event over 150 group participants from across North America
  • Since 2015, Cultural Coordinator at Alpharetta Tamil School – choreography / cultural event coordination [Pongal, graduation, Deepavali, Christmas, volunteer appreciation
  • Since 2016 – 2021 served in various official roles in other tamil based non profit organizations
  • Since Feb 2022 Reaction Team – Liaison for Students evacuation in Ukraine
  • Since March 2022 volunteering with a private group of friends (Women for Women) partnering with other non profit organizations run by women from our community to empower women, teens and girls
  • NRI Emergency response team, USA
    • Work with team during local critical / emergency situations to help affected families
    • Advise directions for women’s rehabilitation, single mom support in case of emergencies
  • Since 2022 serving as Vice President at Lambert high school Band Parent board
  • Since August 2022, coordinating Teen volunteers program at Alpharetta Tamil School
  • At work place volunteer with Social networking groups such as Women In Technology (WIT), Sustainability Network, and other groups – volunteered with YMCA Open HAnd for meal packing
  • Recipient of Women Achiever Award – 2022 recognized by Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FeTNA) at the 35th Annual FeTNA Convention held in New York
